“I am inquisitive to primarily notice and then reimagine the historical memory embedded in architectural concepts.“
In its historical memory, the Jame Mosque of Isfahan has witnessed centuries of destruction, restoration, and reconstruction to ultimately actualize its layered architectural existence that we see today. Nevertheless, every stage of this process is a unique creation on its own. In addition to this palimpsest history, the intertwined naves and corridors, high brick ceilings, and arches with stalactite vaulting have always been the artistic inspiration behind my works. Over the past seven years, I have creatively responded to Iranian architecture, primarily those that are based in Isfahan— my hometown.
Inspired by the repetitions in architectural forms, I succeeded in noticing the features of the intertwined spaces in the Jame Mosque of Isfahan in my previous works. Techniques like monotype and installation on canvas translate my interpretation of the historical quality of this building.
The unique monotype manual printing technique helps the audience observe the reverse effect of the original performance.
In installations, I paint architectural spaces on large transparent lace fabric, which creates a space for the audience to be situated inside these nested spaces. This way, the audience can experience both the direct and indirect impact of architectural concepts. I think creating new ideas is nothing but creating previous ones, given the fact that the infinity Borges mentions tirelessly surrounds us.
Each generation may rewrite the works of their predecessors and recreate the same works with a slight difference. That difference grows into a unique idea once it is channeled through the language of the arts and imagination. Humanity would face a drought of ideas if we had no imagination. Nonetheless, I am inquisitive to primarily notice and then reimagine the historical memory embedded in architectural concepts.

I was born in 1983 in Isfahan, Iran. In 2009, I successfully completed my Masters’s degree in painting from the University of Tehran, followed by my Bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the Art University of Isfahan in 2006.
Throughout the past sixteen years, I have actively dedicated myself to the field of painting. My focus has been on exploring architectural spaces for the last seven years.
In particular, my “Zero_G” series of installations delves into the profound influence of monuments on individual identity. By employing Lace fabric as my chosen material, I aim to evoke both femininity and a sense of lightness, symbolizing Zero-G. Through this approach, I strive to create a heightened awareness among viewers regarding the profound impact of architectural structures and spaces.
