CIANE XAVIER | EXPLORING IDENTITY LOSS
“My sculptures encourage the viewer to dialogue and question assumptions; I create space for curiosity and exploration by retaining a sense of vagueness.”
Ciane Xavier originally hails from a small town in the countryside of South Brazil. From a young age, she dreamed of exploring the immense diversity of cultures worldwide through her career as a fashion model.
Today, Ciane has lived her dream and has had the opportunity to travel to numerous countries and experience different cultures firsthand. Since her teens, Ciane has lived in more than fourteen different countries, which has shaped much of what she today calls a process of identity loss and reconstruction of oneself. Her work strongly reflects this, demonstrating an exploration of selfhood and identity.
Ciane’s first encounter with her inner artist started in the Philippines while painting the walls of her new apartment. She describes it as follows:
“My journey started when I was doodling on my living room walls. I drew freely without restraints, daydreaming about my life experiences and materializing personal emotions. I realized that my soul is the real artist and my hands are the bridge between two different worlds.”
This was a turning point in her life when she decided to emerge herself into art.

and oil paint.
Since then, she has been honing her painting and sculpting skills, learning about different materials and how to incorporate them into her work. She is constantly pushing herself to refine her techniques and produce innovative pieces with the help of 3D technology and 3D Printing.
She is a self-taught visual and multimedia artist and a disciplined learner. All of her skills are self-taught; She has been learning to program on atomization and game development to integrate her work, and by creating Virtual Reality experiences and spaces, she can explore her thoughts and creativity even further. This allows her to create unique and innovative experiences that push the boundaries of what is possible in the gaming world.

Through her work, she seeks to understand the human psyche and how it is affected by the modern world, providing insight into the complexity of the human soul. Using technology as a medium, Ciane can create powerful and thought-provoking pieces that encourage viewers to reflect on their own lives and experiences.
