Jens Vange | Hidden Dimensions Of Urban Architecture
Jens Vange has been fascinated by the works of Magritte, Escher, Monet, and Dali for many years. Their ability to transform everyday realities into fantastical scenes has captured his imagination.
Having worked as an architect for four decades, he has always been drawn to the enchanting effects of light. Since 2018, Jens has dedicated himself to seeking out unique vantage points in major cities across the globe in order to capture moments of unexpected and unintended architecture.
Rather than simply photographing buildings directly, he chooses to interpret them through the lens of their surroundings, capturing fleeting reflections and distortions that emerge on exceptionally hot or cold days.
These captivating experiences now linger at the edges of his perception in every city he visits, especially in his hometown. They are a continual source of inspiration, prompting him and others to look beyond the ordinary and uncover or rediscover the extraordinary. Jens’ work has gained international recognition through publications, awards, and exhibitions. It’s worth noting that all of his photos are taken using single exposures.
