NOA YERUSHALMI | RHYTHM | LANGUAGE | (E)MOTION
“Colors have a rhythm, language, movement, ’emotion of their own’ – one color leads to another, shares in the creation, moves in the abstract space, dances in the now.” – Noa Yerushalmi
Colors attract my spirit, and abstract painting touches in me a deep knowing of existence that is beyond words.
While I use brushes and tools, a lot of my painting is done with my bare hands and fingers.
Colors have a rhythm, language, movement, ’emotion of their own’ one color leads to another, shares in the creation, moves in the abstract space, dances in the now.
My painting likes to give place and voice to these, dancing together – and the rhythm is vivace!
The internal process of painting always surprises me. I sometimes refer to it as a ‘spiritual guide.’
It feels like walking in the unknown.
After noticing a voice possesses me in my head with an agenda about what I should be painting and how it should look, I make way, free of whether the painting will turn out ‘nice’ or ‘pleasing.’ Instead, I wish to evoke the ability to connect with the personal energy of renewal, movement, the happy place, and the life spirit.
