“My Abstract photographic landscapes, tend to create an illusionary sceneries, in which lines, curves, colorful dots and pixel squares are combined together in order to create a sense of wholeness, coherence and unity. I am creating new arrangements that are reflecting the influences of the modern digital world upon the human existence and nature. I am trying to rearrange my world of images in a none figurative way, using the syntax of the visual language with its different components and elements in order to create unifying landscapes, and to give it a new understanding and insights. When I look, from a distance, at those landscapes, I can see how they seek and long for a unifying visual, cultural narrative, and how they attempt to capture this virtually “absent” image. I can see how they are characterized by a complexity of particles, memories and echoes from many places. Mosaic like, they resemble and reflecting a new world and prisms. My quest of rearranging and articulating my visions, thoughts and ideas, continues in recent years at new places, mainly in different market places in Jerusalem, in order to discover precious moments where the encounter and interaction between different people, between different cultures and beliefs, different groups in society, is occurring. That main idea which I was trying to portrait in this series of photographic works led my thoughts to see the market places not only as places of unique authenticity, fascinating with their colorful characteristics, but also as places which crystallize the need and the mutual necessity of different people, to live and to coexist. I have tried to visualize that idea and to symbolize it in those abstract photographic landscapes.”
