| BEING A CREATIVE PERSON
“Growing up, I realized that creativity is the central quality of my personality and expressed in my unique way of thinking and in my unique way of looking at the world. I started my way in the art world with visual communication studies, where I first became acquainted with terms such as composition, shape, and line.
After Collage, I worked for several years as a graphic designer, but I gradually felt unsatisfied; I needed to find a different path of creation. Quitting a very convenient position was a frightening step that eventually leads me to discover my real essence: I was born to be a painter.
I was exposed to the magic of international art at Israel Hershberg’s school in Israel.
I remember the first day at the studio; Easels were put in a circle around the model’s stage with canvases decorated with wet paint spots. I was captured by the magic.
I studied there for 6 years. During five summers, I participated in the landscape painting programs where the school operated in Italy, every year, the school organized it with a different artist guest. In those years, I learned the painting language. Language of abstract observation; Spots and lines, tones, and edges.
I paint and draw from observation. I am drawn to still life and consider my vases and bottles as shapes that I can play with, to create numerous compositions. I especially love sculptures. I love their elegant lines and fabric folds, and when I am using them, I feel in a way, that I combine the human figure in my work.
For me, the painting world is a fascinating journey with endless possibilities.
Which shapes appeal to me? Which colors and brush strokes? How can I improve the composition to be more attractive?
“The world is full of pictorial motifs, and as an artist, I must refine my senses, identify and hunt them in my own unique way. I feel blessed to find my destiny as a painter.”
