Picasso – Blue Period at Sotheby’s
The top lot from the Impressionist & Modern Art Evening sale was Picasso’s sultry La Gommeuse from 1901, which sold for a staggering $67.5 million – an auction record for a Blue Period Picasso. From the Louis and Evelyn Franck Collection came another early Picasso – Nu au jambes croisées, which sold for $12 million.
