Reconfiguring…Choen Lee
Choen Lee is a South East Asian multimedia contemporary artist. (Although her name sounds like Chun Li of Street Fighter, she is not a street fighter, but she may or may not be real (maybe).
Lee creates thought-provoking work that aims to bring a smile to your face or challenge your perceptions. Her art draws inspiration primarily from manga and comics, delving into complex themes of identity and reality. She often questions what qualifies as real, sometimes using a satirical approach that edges into the realm of protest art.
Some of her notable accolades include being recognized as a Finalist at the international competition run by Art Market Magazine and XIV Florence Biennale in 2023. Additionally, she won the ftNFT International Award in 2024 at a ceremony hosted at the iconic Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Her work has been showcased and published worldwide, and in late 2024, one of her artworks will be immortalized on the moon’s surface thanks to MoonMars.
