SHAY AVIVI
Shay Avivi – A Plein air painter.
For more than 20 years he painted in a realistic and modern figurative style,
first as a hobby and then as a way of life.
Trying to work in the same tradition of classical painting with great respect for the sources of art,
by the use of high quality materials, paints, equipment and methods.
“I’m looking at the subject of the painting while understanding the spots, light and shadows and tones. I’ve studied painting in various schools with the finest artists in Israel, including a master class at the Jerusalem studio school directed by Israel Hershberg, Hatachana directed by Aram Gershuni and David Nipo and with Elie Shamir at Kfar Yehoshua.
In the recent years I have been painting the country’s landscapes in all directions.
I specialize mainly in painting outdoor by observation in nature (Plein Air Painting).
My source of inspiration comes from the old master painters – artists like Jean Baptiste Camille Coro, Isaac Levitan and many others.
I promote and lead the outdoor painting through observation of the landscape via a Facebook group named Plein Air Painting – Paint in Nature – En Plein Air. I exhibit in many group exhibitions and in three solo exhibitions.”
57 years old, father to Ella & Daniel.
Live in Israel.
