Uwe Tabatt combines an impetus critic of civilization with fantastic realism.
Tabatt is no ordinary artist. He has developed and preserved his own unmistakable style and, therefore, cannot be pigeonholed. His pictures tell stories; however, only at a second glance will one discover small details that the artist cleverly incorporated to captivate the viewer and offer multiple new aspects.
His pictures document facts and events, show a vision and provide food for thought. They also might leave the viewer with a smile, and at the same time, they make the viewer ponder.

Often these are serious facts, which he visualizes with artistic professionalism, always carefully tailored with a pinch of irony and humor. He is conscious of the world surrounding him and integrates his thoughts through his artwork. In this way, he encourages the viewer to change perspectives and stimulates a critical reflection on what is depicted.
Uwe Tabatt has an extraordinary approach to his artistic realization. His pictures have a stereoscopic effect, and he intensifies this effect by adding plastic elements.

Uwe Tabatt’s sculptures and moving picture objects include round and spiky, city and nature, organic and urban. The round was as much his favorite as the extreme that grew in height. Some of Tabatt’s works also rotate, e.g., rotating tires can be seen as a symbol of speed and dynamism and form the background noise of the noisy, gasoline-soaked, expanding metropolis.

Uwe Tabatt combines emotional exuberance with a rough rhythm created by a good portion of sarcasm. Tabatt paints his forms in wood, rubber, metal, and on canvas with acrylic.
Brushstrokes and colors create bubbling calms when there is calm and crackling tension while rotation arises. His works are part of public and private collections internationally.

“At the heart of my work is the description of states of transformation. The focus is on balancing growth and decay, considering social, urban planning, and biological aspects. I worry about the world surrounding us and implement it in my work. I aim to express it in a modified form in my work and perhaps in a new context with the seemingly familiar.
I transport fragments from the past, memories paired with current impulses in visions of the future, which give food for thought and are intended to stimulate a change of perspective and critical reflection.
I am interested in the primordial power of nature, as well as ecology, industrialization, and progress. Utopian arrangements emerge from a dynamic moment in which nature and civilized life worlds come together.
I consciously leave my work in a kind of suspended state. They are in the process and in a flow. In the complexity, the unambiguity disappears. My arrangement of natural objects with everyday objects or architecture into biomorphic forms also stands for responsibility in the interrelation between people and the environment.
As I start the workflow, there is always the idea of mixing visual impressions formally and in terms of content, creating tension, giving an impulse, shaking up familiar viewing habits, and recharging them with a new expression.
