NIDHI MOGHARIYA
PATTERNS & FRAGMENTS OF COLOR
Nidhi Moghariya is a self-taught Indian artist based in the USA, whose vibrant portraits celebrate the beauty of women. Her aim is not so much to represent her subjects realistically, but rather to re-imagine their energy in the paint. Nidhi felt the breakthrough when she moved to the USA; it seemed like she was breaking the existing habits and believes she lived so far and reconstructing in new ways her new life.
Nidhi decided she was taking it also to her painting. Spending countless hours breaking down her subject into patterns and fragments of color, Nidhi creates artworks that are not only striking but deep and powerful.
Moghariya has exhibited her portraits in various Galleries in the USA. Her work has been published in national and international magazines.
My vibrant portraits celebrate the beauty of women.
I explore the complexity of relationships and the feelings that accompany them – love, desire, longing, fear – subjects familiar to us all.

I am not so much to represent my subjects realistically, but rather to re-imagine their energy in the painting. Spending countless hours breaking down my subject into patterns and fragments of color, I produce artworks that are not only striking but deep and powerful.
Painted predominantly with acrylic, each piece begins with a subject, but with a large amount of experimentation, each art piece takes on its own journey from start to finish.
The pieces challenge viewers to draw upon their own emotions and personal experiences.
The most apparent attribute of my work is the use of color as a means of expression. In addition, I enhance the color content of each canvas with touches of light and shadows by using texture to add emphasis to the desired effect. For the most part, I rely on colors as a significant element in projecting the emotional content in my works.
