Ruimiao Wang’s artistic practice is deeply rooted in personal memory, observation, and emotional reflection. Working primarily in painting, she draws inspiration from her own photographs, transforming lived experiences into intimate visual narratives that explore themes of growth, materiality, and the passage of time. Her compositions often evoke a quiet sense of nostalgia, reimagining everyday moments and familiar figures through a sensitive, introspective lens.

Wang approaches her work as a process of gentle recollection—each piece serving as both documentation and reinterpretation of her inner world. Through a nuanced use of color, texture, and form, she creates evocative scenes that blur the boundaries between reality and memory, inviting viewers into a contemplative space shaped by personal history and emotional resonance.

Ruimiao Wang

Ruimiao Wang is a Beijing-born artist currently based in New York. She began her formal artistic and academic training at the Fine Arts School Affiliated with the China Central Academy of Fine Arts, where she developed a strong foundation in both visual arts and English studies. Since 2018, she has continued her artistic education in the United States, earning a BFA in Painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and pursuing an MFA in Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Alongside her academic practice, Wang has gained professional experience as a Gallery Assistant and Art Handler at Van Der Plas Gallery in New York, and as a Studio Assistant in Beijing.

Wang’s work has been exhibited in numerous group exhibitions across New York and Philadelphia, including the SVA MFA Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition, LatchKey Gallery, and the Rittenhouse Square Fine Art Show. Wang’s multidisciplinary skills span painting, printmaking, sculpture, and photography, supported by proficiency in digital tools and fluency in both English and Mandarin.
