and loved ones.”
VYXTRT is a 26-year-old painter from and currently living in Toronto, Canada. As a self-taught artist, she has been painting for 6 years, just starting out as a realistic portrait artist, she later found her passion for figurative expressionism in 2017 and has continued with it ever since. Though preferring to use acrylic paint for most of her projects, the use of oil paints, oil pastels to everyday items like a pen and pencil are not out of the picture to get the desired outcome in most pieces.
The real purpose of my art is to tell my personal story in ways I don’t feel comfortable speaking verbally. Each canvas is a diary page in painting form, expressing how I felt at certain times of my life and events.

I’d always look in the mirror with confusion because I didn’t know what I honestly looked like. Still, through my art, I have developed a personal way to portray myself and loved ones.
Though they may be disfigured creatures with horns and eerie eyes, that’s what I believe best captures the version I see.
My artwork is not for everyone, but the goal with these paintings has always been for others to be inspired to create whatever they want and to not worry about techniques or rules, just express yourself.”
