TANYA ISAACSON
Born in Connecticut, Tanya moved to Boston to attend Massachusetts College of Art where she received her BFA in Illustration, graduating with Honors and awarded the “Art School Associate’s Award of Excellence” for the Department. Freelance editorial work for various magazines and publications paved the way for what would become an unusual creative career path in the digital arts.
Pioneering the new world of digital media and computer gaming, Tanya worked with some of the most prominent software and gaming companies creating elaborate and sophisticated digital illustration and animation for numerous published games and educational software. For more than two decades, she devoted her artistic skills to elevate visual standards of art and design in corporate media.
While balancing her professional life in the digital arts, Tanya also maintained her more personal endeavor as a fine artist and a painter. Inspired by the human figure, drawn to portraiture, drama, theatrical lighting and narrative/ conceptual work, she seeks to create work that engages the viewer, draws them in, and provokes contemplation. It is her intent to rouse that emotional connection between the subject and the viewer.
This is evident in her current series of work, which she has titled, “The Things that Bind Us”, a psychological series using metaphorical images, executed in a realistic and representational manner, to convey a message of human commonalities and self-empowerment.
Tanya resides in the Boston area, with her family and three mostly grown children. Most of her time is devoted to painting in her Framingham studio working on multiple painting series and commissioned work. Within the last year, Tanya has received recognition for her paintings, and has been selected to exhibit with The Guild of Boston Artists, Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club In NYC, National Association of Women Artists, as well as other various local galleries and venues. In addition, her work was selected as a Finalist, in “The Artist’s Magazine Annual 2016 Art Competition” Portrait and Figurative Division where there were more than 5,900 worldwide entries for this division.
