BOLD ABSTRACT EXPRESSION
By Michal Shelly
“I believe in the emotional power of bold blue tones, exaggerated proportions, intense colors, and raw emotional expressions. My paintings are designed to captivate and transport the viewer to a realm beyond traditional human and color expression. By using monochromatic palettes, I can intricately interlace external and internal body parts, resulting in forms that play with distortion. My ultimate goal is to create art that evokes a strong emotional response from those who experience it.”
“My art seamlessly weaves figurative elements into abstract expressions, drawing inspiration from the 20th-century expressive styles embodied by ‘Der Blaue Reiter’ and ‘Die Brücke’ groups. The emotional potency of my paintings is vividly portrayed through bold blue tones, exaggerated proportions, intense colors, and raw emotional expressions. My focus centers on conveying captivating images, transcending traditional human and color expression.
Employing monochromatic palettes, I intricately interlace external and internal body parts, resulting in forms that play with distortion. At the core of my artistic philosophy is reverence for multiple perspectives and interpretations.
I intend to foster a connection between observers and myself, intertwining with the observer’s subconscious and the collective human unconscious.
My artwork serves as a bridge, facilitating a profound exchange between personal and interpersonal realms, ultimately kindling emotions through innovative patterns. Existing on the threshold between the figurative and the abstract, my creations stir immersive emotional experiences, blurring the boundaries that demarcate these realms and striving for authenticity.
My creative process revolves around envisioning depictions unrestricted by form, engendering a realm of exploration that beckons both the artist and the observer to traverse.
This creative journey serves as a conduit to unearth my innermost self and untapped depths. Embracing the art of discovery over the act of illustrating thoughts, I adopt a meditative approach to gently unveil imagery onto the canvas.
Through my artworks, I invite others to embark upon a voyage into the enigmatic realm of the unknown, evoking excitement and resonance within those who partake in my artistic odyssey”.
