Sheer Magic | Spray Painting
“I have a deep passion for contemporary dance. The art form captivates me with its breathtaking beauty, incredible athleticism, and mind-bending expressiveness.
Witnessing a moment’s sheer magic and energy in contemporary dance fills me with joy and contentment.
I recently had the privilege of watching Carlos Acosta perform again, and his movements moved me to tears. Great dancers like him can convey a wide range of human emotions without uttering a single word.
In my artistic journey, I have transitioned from being a successful portrait artist to embracing the challenge of creating recognizable imagery using car spray paint as my medium.
This deliberate shift has allowed me to relinquish control and focus on the raw expression of my art. Working with spray cans straight from the garage, without any special nozzles, has been liberating and challenging. I have learned to let go of preconceptions and embrace the unpredictable nature of working with spray paint. Many of my artistic endeavors end up being painted over, with only a fraction surviving the process. The thrill of the unknown and the excitement of the few surviving pieces drives me forward.

As I continue to immerse myself in the world of contemporary dance, my paintings grow larger and bolder. Each passing week brings with it an increasing dedication to experiencing dance performances, with The Place in London holding a special place in my heart. Through my art, I strive to capture a single mesmerizing moment from the world of contemporary dance and preserve it forever on canvas.” – AKA CONCRETE
