Sveta Butko | The Age Of Innocence
“I am fascinated by the interplay between the past and the present and the evocative power of nostalgia intertwined with today’s emotions.”
Sveta Butko is an extraordinarily talented, self-taught professional child and family photographer based in Israel. After devoting years to pursuing a Ph.D. and working as an architect, she boldly decided to change her career path in late 2016, drawn by a deep-seated passion for capturing memorable moments.
The catalyst for this transformation was witnessing the profound connection her child with special needs formed with horses during therapeutic riding sessions. This experience sparked a deep inspiration in Sveta, compelling her to document these powerful moments using her trusted Canon camera. Through her lens, she endeavors to immortalize these heartwarming memories for her family while sharing them with other parents of children with special needs as a source of encouragement and motivation.

“Photography is a form of storytelling that blurs the lines between fantasy and reality.”
“I am driven by a deep curiosity to capture intangible elements such as the wind’s caress, the place’s redolence, and the reverberations of sound in my portraiture.
Each photo is a narrative, a symbol-rich tapestry that weaves together the essence of people and objects.
My process is instinctual, driven by an unshakeable belief in intuition. To convey my subjects’ life stories, I seek to forge an invisible yet profound connection with them, akin to experiencing the thrill of a first encounter with every new subject.”
