“I am an artist and a poet. From 2013 I have been living and painting in the United Kingdom. For many years my art has specifically included scenography projects, mural paintings together with 22 solo and 34 shared exhibitions, largely in Lithuania and around Europe; Italy, Poland, Hungary and England. In April 2018 I exhibited my pictures in the US, Art Expo, New York for the first time.
The majority of my paintings are traditional, oil on canvas. But for many years I have been creating collages with wood, photos, sawdust, mirrors, and clothes. These materials help me create another level of expression and make the pictures more talkative.
I grew up with art – I used to study albums of France impressionists, and as a teenager, I had enormous curiosity and have read many artists’ biographies.
Of course, A. Warhol, J.Pollack, R. Lichtenstein are on my list of favorite.
I also have particular feelings and resonance with the pictures of Mark Rothko. We share an element in our family background, as we born in the same neighborhood and, in no doubt, have had similar experiences in the cultural context of our pictures. In England I have had an affinity to the artworks of D. Hockney. I have been impressed with his subject matter and use of color. Wider afield, I also admire the art and techniques of the Japanese and Chinese. Of course A. Warhol, J. Pollock, R. Lichtenstein are on my list of favorites.

“I was born in Lithuania, in 29.10.1962. In A. Martinaitis Art School and Academy of Art,
I received an education about art techniques, styles and many finer points, however, I think amongst the most important things are creativity, original thoughts and the deepest understanding of infinity, God, and possibly the whispers of immortality.
In my view, the majority of contemporary artists reproduce sellable thrillers, they demonstrate high levels of technique but with dubious creativity. My thoughts are that the most important thing is the spiritual level of the picture, a strong input of emotions and intuitive creativity to make a good artwork.
I have 3 beautiful children and apart from my art I have had 3 poetry books published in Lithuanian. My poems have been translated into many languages, including English, Italian, Hindu, Spanish, and Turkish. Purchasers of my artworks come from all over the world, including collectors from France, Norway, Israel, Italy, England, Australia and the US. In the last year I have belatedly joined the modern fashion to sell artworks online notably at Saatchi Art Gallery and Art Gallery co.uk.
About a decade ago, my life entered a very bad and depressing period. It is hard when you lose everything to which you have become accustomed and have had to start a different life in a new country. Stresses though have made me stronger. In England creativity has been re-energized. I have found many further areas of inspiration. The possibility to paint has been greatly facilitated by my enduring partner Colin Undy – a typical English gentleman.
I have, though, probably become less sociable. I live a few miles away from London, but am still finding my way to participate in the London art world. By communication online, I have suggestions to do solo exhibitions coming from London, New York and Rome, but prices for solo exhibitions are so high are often not worth the result.”

“In April 2018 I exhibited my pictures in ArtExpo, New York, but whilst well received have not resulted in expected sales. My feelings at the time were of low ebb. The last seven years have seen a flavor and inspiration driven by my adventures into numerous Islands including Sicily, Corfu, Madeira, Lanzarote, Tenerife and especially England. It is probably the reason why blue colors dominate in my paintings – I am always surrounded by water! I admire the beauty and charm of the English people and culture, and the warmth of my reception.”
Luana’s art is being featured in Saatchi Collection. Recently she had exhibited at ‘Fusion Art 3rd Annual Colors Exhibition’ and was awarded for ‘Honorable Mention’, her art will be featured at Art Anthologies “Current Masters”.
